The last thing you want on a motorcycle that is going to perform is hot air from the intake and hot fuel. Hot air has a lower density than cold air, which is why it is a good idea to concentrate on keeping your air filter box cool. Fuel is a completely different matter. Regular gasoline has a boiling point of between 65 and 78 degrees, depending on how much ethanol it contains, the octane number and not least the quality of the fuel. That is actually not much when you consider that you have an engine under the tank that has an optimal operating temperature of between 87 and 90 degrees.

Heat protection of tank and air filter box

Heat, as you know, travels upwards and the first thing it encounters is the air filter box and the next is the tank, which is designed like an umbrella on many motorcycles. This means that air can be trapped under the tank and heat up the tank and fuel. It takes a while for the fuel to boil, but the fact is that hot fuel, like hot air, has a smaller filling and therefore you will get lower engine power. Constant power

When we test on our track, it is clear that something happens to the power of the motorcycles when the air gets too hot and the tank gets hot. Then the power drops. By creating effective thermal insulation, you can keep the power up, even under extreme conditions on the track.
