HEL V2 Racing brake caliper, milled out of 6082 T6 Aluminum

Upgrade of the popular Hel V2 caliber.

The HEL V2 Racing brake caliper offers a more rigid and robust structure than the V1 model, where the two halves are now held together by 5 instead of 3 bolts. In addition, the mounting of the banjo bolt is located differently, which makes brake work easier and faster on the track. The bleed screw is also now located differently. In addition, the Racing version differs from the regular version by having cooling fins on the back of the caliper, for better cooling during extreme use.

Isn't a caliber just a caliber?

Many brake calipers today are cast in aluminum to achieve a lower price. This method has a number of disadvantages. One of the major disadvantages is that both threads and flow channels etc. must be machined for the caliper to be effective. But even after machining there can be small pockets and unevenness in the surface, which makes the caliper conduct heat less effectively due to poorer flow, which results in poorer braking properties. In addition, a cast caliper is not as stiff. These HEL brake calipers are milled from two solid blocks of aluminum and therefore all surfaces are meticulously machined. In addition to a better brake caliper with better heat dissipation, you also get a caliper that has a very nice surface. This is hardware that beats the well-known M50 and M4 calipers by a long way! Everything is optimized to perfection, even the red logo that is painted with a brush by hand! Unlike many other calipers, these calipers only get fluid from one side, making the brakes much easier to bleed. HEL's stainless steel pistons work effectively to keep the heat from the pads away from the caliper itself, which is why the brake fluid can be kept significantly cooler than with aluminum and titanium pistons. A must for fast track days and road racing. HEL's brake calipers are developed in Superbike and are used, among other things, in BSB (British superbikes) where the equipment is tested to the extremes, which also means that the calipers have been exposed to all worst case scenarios. The next step up the performance ladder are CNC milled monoblock calipers, but here we are talking about a COMPLETELY different price tag. These calipers last the whole way! AND yes, we have them sitting on our exhibition motorcycle! You won't find better brake calipers for motorcycles. Specifications:

The calipers are delivered without brake pads, and can be delivered in 108mm (Japanese motorcycle models) or 100mm (for Öhlins front fork). SBS 809 brake pads fit the HEL V1 calipers, we recommend 809RST for street and track days, and 809DC or 809DS-1 or DS2 for pure racing. It is possible to purchase a single caliper for the right or left side if you want to upgrade the brakes on a motorcycle with a single caliper. It is also possible to buy mounting kits that fit front forks with radially mounted brakes, e.g. SV1000.
